Being a city girl...

has it's advantages. I'm convinced of it. First of all, there isn't 4 acres of lawn to cut. Second of all, there's no hay, any other crop, cows or anything else one might be allergic to to send one into god awful allergies. Third of all, it very well may protect your heart.

I'm not so certain that I'm cut out to be a farm girl despite the fact that I love it here and love the idea of cows and horses and oh yeah, a pot belly pig which I am DETERMINED I will own someday. We've lost 2 calves this week. And it ain't pretty. I'll spare you the icky details but will say this much, they were tiny, probably about 3 weeks premature and well, sick. And there wasn't a damn thing we could do about it. And that feeling pretty much sucks, even when it's not a pet. It makes me want to act like a 5 year old and say, I don't ever want a horse (or a dog, or a cat...)because it hurts too much when they get sick...or I don't ever want to love again because broken hearts suck. However, fortunately for my spouse, I am not a 5 year old and managed NOT to cry, roll around on the ground and kick my feet, however my heart did tug and break just a little...little creatures should be saved from that process as far as I'm concerned. So that was a great end of an already not so hot week...Does anyone have any GOOD news to share? Cuz I could use some!

Enjoy your weekend, I'm going to walk my pup and sleep. A lot. And catch up from the sleepless night last night and the night before...wait, I forgot, you can't make up for lost sleep. Well, I'm going to try to prove them wrong!
